The fans of Pawan Kalyan wanted to eagerly see how their demi-God will look in his comeback film, Vakeel Saab. Well, the trailer is here and it has gone viral. Let’s do a postmortem and see what clicks and what doesn’t in the trailer.
What’s it about?
The film is the remake of Hindi hit Pink that had Amitabh and Taapsee in lead roles. The remake is a courtroom drama and Pawan Kalyan plays this lawyer who comes to the aid of three innocent girls played by Anjali, Nivetha Thomas, and Ananya. They are put behind bars for a crime that they have not committed and Pawan comes to their rescue and fights their case against Prakash Raj.
What Clicks
The emotion in the trailer has been kept intact as the original. Director Venu Sriram does not go for massy entry or punch dialogues of Pawan Kalyan and straight away shows what the film is going to be through an ‘Are You a Virgin’ dialogue which keeps haunting in the trailer. Secondly, Pawan is brought in on a simple note but still, he manages to create an impact with his screen presence.
The crime angle in the story, Pawan fighting the case, and the confrontation scenes that are going to be a highlight are also brought in quite conveniently. The trailer is also ended with a punchline with Pawan counter-attacking Prakash Raj which also looks fun.
What Flops
All those fans who feel that there will be a massy entry of Pawan Kalyan or his typical mass dialogues and fights will be disappointed as there is none of this. Secondly, Shruthi Haasan is playing the female lead but she is nowhere seen in the trailer.
Then, the three girls who form the key leads are not highlighted well and are just seen as basic characters. The court setup does not look realistic and has a filmy effect. The supporting characters are also not that effective in the trailer.
What to expect
Finally, by the looks of it, the trailer is cut in such a way to reveal the plot which was kept as a secret until now. This is done for those who do not know about Pink and were waiting to see what is the film all about. Also, the trailer gives an idea that the film will be more about women’s liberation and how Pawan is going to bring his social issue into public rather than showcasing his stardom or swag. So get ready for a content-based social film with Pawan Kalyan’s amazing screen presence.
