Last year, same time, the world came to a standstill as the lockdown was in full swing in India and abroad. Looks like the same is going to happen in the days to come as well as per the reports. With the second wave hitting hard, India is on the backfoot and many states are doing their own best to curb the cases. But things are getting serious leaving many in a tense state.
Bollywood and its big film business have gone for a toss as the shoots have been stalled and releases have been postponed to the end of this year. What about the Telugu cinema industry and what is its state, let’s now see. Vakeel Saab is the next big film that will have a smooth release in the days to come. But things will get tough during its second week as theatres, gyms, and malls are proposed to be closed.
If this happens, many will become homeless and film media will become dull and have nothing to survive on. As the covid scare got less, several big banners announced film releases in a big way. Things were set in such a way that every week there are close to two or three big films releasing. But now, films like Tuck Jagadish, Love Story, and many other films in April and May are in danger of getting stuck due to the closure of theatres.
In such a time, some smart producers who wanted only big-screen releases have once again started negotiating with OTT platforms. The online space which got dull in the last few months has started to breathe fresh as many filmmakers and small-time producers have already started selling their films online. So, which film will make it to the theatres and which will not only time will tell.
