Plot :
Ajay Krishna (Mahesh) a soldier comes to the aid of his fellow soldier’s family. How he meets that Family, deals all the challenges that come in their way as a responsible soldier, fights with corrupt politicians forms the story of Sarileru Nikevvaru.
Performances :
Mahesh Babu excelled with his comic timing, energy , acting, action & Dances (Special Mention) in this movie. He literally carried the whole plot of the movie on his shoulders – A One Man Show. Rashmika has just got a few scenes in the first half & 2 songs. Vijay Shanthi in her comeback movie gave a powerful and impactful performance. Prakashraj, Rao Ramesh & Rajendra Prasad as usual pulled off their characters with utmost ease. Others Sangeetha, HariTeja etc were good with the limited screen presence given.
Technical :
The Music by Devi Sri Prasad is below par. A Mass Commercial Entertainer like this needed much better songs. BGM is good but the movie needed much powerful BGM in few scenes. Cinematography by Ratnavelu is good. The colors & frames presented on the screen looked very rich. Art Director A.S. Prakash did a good & hefty work with the sets in the movie especially recreating the Konda reddy Burju. Fights by Ram-Laxman are whistle-worthy and made the action look so classy. Production Values are really good & once can see the richness & quality in the movie. Story by Anil Ravipudi is a simple one as like his previous movies. Screenplay was racy until the 1st half. It could have been little more better in the 2nd . Climax was the weakest in the movie. It could have been dealt in a different way. His strongest zone Comedy, didn’t work out in this movie as expected. One thing Anil has achieved with this movie is bringing out the energetic Mahesh Babu from his subtle acting in recent times but didn’t succeed to deliver a superhit commercial. It ends up as a decent watch.
Positives :
- Mahesh’s Energetic, Powerful Performance & Comic Timing
- Interval & Post-Interval Scenes
- Action Episodes
- Heroism Elevation Episodes & Dialogues
- Mind Block Song & Dang Dang Song
- VijayShanthi & Prakash Raj Powerful Performance
Negatives :
- Music not upto mark, BGM could have been better
- Forced Comic Tracks. Comedy not upto Anil’s standards.
- Routine Story & Lethargic Screenplay in 2nd Half
- Unconventional Climax
Summary :
The movie has a good First half with couple of nice scenes and laughs here and there with an intense & extraordinary interval block. Followed by very good first 30 min, Excellent Mind Block Song in Second half, then it all went downhill with weakest and unconventional climax.
Overall Sarileru Nikevvaru will be a feast for Mahesh fans who wanted to him to get back to Mass roles from a long time. For others, this festive season it provides some decent entertainment & moments worthy enough for a theatrical watch!
