Th first Major OTT release from Tollywood & Nani’s 25th Film ‘V’ had hit the PrimeVideo app a little early on the Release date. Let’s check out if Nani has passed the 25th movie hurdle or not.
Plot :
From PrimeVideo : The showdown between a celebrated cop and a serial killer who challenges the former to nab him, results in consequences laced with heavy-duty action, playful romance and dark humour.
Performances :
Nani appears only for a limited screen time that too in a dark shade most times. Not much to say about his performance. Infact Natural star’s acting & voice modulation looks artificial in this movie! Sudheer babu played along his role decently. But the chemistry between him & Nivetha Thomas looks way off. Nivetha’s character initially had a little scope & interesting but later it was breezy. Aditi has a short guest kind of a role which she had nothing much to do except for a few montages & 2-3 scenes.
Technical :
Best part of Technical team will be the cinematographer PG.Vinda. Visuals were a little saving grace for this movie. Music by Amit Trivedi is not up to mark except for Vasthunna Vachesthunna Song. Thaman S was roped in for the background score all of a sudden just before the movie’s OTT release. He did a decent job except for few BGM bits which sound exactly like the BGM of ‘Ratsasan’ movie. As we all know, Production Values by Sri Venkateswara Creations are good & adequate. In few places, they actually spent few extra bucks than needed! Coming to the writer & director of the movie Mohan Krishna Indraganti. One expects a sensible movie from a director like him. This time he tried a new genre but failed miserably both as a writer & director. There is not even a single sequence/scene in the movie which is gripping. For a thriller genre films like this you need a very tight screenplay even though your threads are loose. But that’s not the case with V. From the moment go – Movie is flat, predictable, dragged & uninteresting. Not even a single wow factor or twist.
Highlights :
- Cinematography
- Background Score
Negatives :
- Story, Screenplay
- Direction
- Feeble Performance by Nani
- Lead Cast Not Utilised
- Music
Summary :
To sum it up, V is a highly outdated, drag to death movie! Completely forgetful movie for Nani & others who are part of it. No Entertainment, excitement or thrill.
Good that the makers have opted for an OTT release which made it a safe bet commercially. It would have been a disaster for theatrical run.
Now that it’s on OTT, Users might give it a quick watch as there are no movies available right now & this is the 1st Big OTT release of Tollywood.
Rating : 2/5
